I’ve been away from my computer for a bit. This is what happens when your 3 1/2 year old is out of school and you’re scrambling for ideas of what to do this summer. He’s doing a second session of swim, day camp and a few “adventures” with me during the week.
I’ve been busy with photo shoots, trying to get though piles of laundry, and spending time with relatives. I can’t believe the 4th is right around the corner. Where has the time gone?
My new favorite summer appetizer we’ve been making is bruschetta with pesto, fresh tomatoes and burrata. OMG. Burrata on toasted bread with olive oil? So delicious.
1 crusty baguette (cut horizontally and toast. Let cool)
Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons of pesto
Spread burrata on top of pesto so it covers most of the bread
Sprinkle pepper and salt on top of burrata
Roughly chop organic cherry tomatoes (I like the ones that are all different colors) and put on top of burrata
Drizzle olive oil on top of tomatoes
Tear small pieces of fresh basil and put on top of tomatoes
My favorite color combinations for interiors are black and white. If I didn’t have a dirty labrador, a small child and Beyonce the bunny, I’d have all white furniture. I love the clean look of white and black together.
I’m working on a “wish list” of what I want to get done before September comes. I want to read more books, clean out closets, print out photos, try new recipes, hang up more artwork and organize a game night. Do you have a rolling wish list and have you read any great books lately?
Stay cool! C
