Good Morning!

How are you today? Hope you enjoyed your weekend.  I had a great time at the Timberlake/Jay-Z concert Friday night at Candlestick (Jay-Z brought the house down).  Even though it was freezing, once the music started, you forgot about the bitter cold of what summer is like in San Francisco.  I saw these poor girls in shorts and sleeveless tops (obviously not natives or current residents of the city) while others were wearing beanies and goose down (me!).  The show was amazing and I’ve been listening to the set list all weekend on Spotify.

And I’m definitely setting my TiVo to record Jay-Z’s “Picasso Baby” performance art film (Coming to HBO this Friday, August 2nd 11pm)

Last fall I bought a field jacket from J.Crew that I wore all the time and still do.  I love that look and I”m thinking of adding this tres-chic Barbour to the mix

My summer books are starting to pile up, but I want to add this one to the list

A Dual Inheritance – Joanna Hershon ($18.28)

From Amazon.com:
“Autumn 1962: Ed Cantowitz and Hugh Shipley meet in their final year at Harvard. Ed is far removed from Hugh’s privileged upbringing as a Boston Brahmin, yet his drive and ambition outpace Hugh’s ambivalence about his own life. These two young men form an unlikely friendship, bolstered by a fierce shared desire to transcend their circumstances. But in just a few short years, not only do their paths diverge—one rising on Wall Street, the other becoming a kind of global humanitarian—but their friendship ends abruptly, with only one of them understanding why.

Can a friendship define your view of the world? Spanning from the Cuban Missile Crisis to the present-day stock market collapse, with locations as diverse as Dar es Salaam, Boston, Shenzhen, and Fishers Island, A Dual Inheritance asks this question, as it follows not only these two men, but the complicated women in their vastly different lives. And as Ed and Hugh grow farther and farther apart, they remain uniquely—even surprisingly—connected”

Met a woman over the weekend who was sporting these TOMS sunglasses ($139).  Who knew TOMS made such cool glasses? Thought they were a great mix of a cat’s eye and the throwback Ray-Ban Risky Business look. Plus, love that they’re black and tortoise shell.

Michelle Williams is perfect in the new fall Louis Vuitton campaign.  I’m a big fan of hers…

Dig this print from Marc Johns.  Would be funny for a powder room.

Is my hunter hubby rubbing off on me? I think this makeup case ($44) from C.Wonder is pretty cute.

Yes, I love bags.  I think a bag can completely represent your style in it’s sleek and beautiful presentation.   And I think this one from IOMOI ($398) is really cool.  And of course I love the monogram.

I know I mentioned “Ray Donovan” in one of my previous posts, but if you haven’t checked this show out yet, I highly recommend it. One of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time.  And Liev is fantastic.

Have a good one! C
