Loft in Translation

Actress & Director Sophia Coppola and husband Thomas Mars just put their beautiful place up for sale in NYC.  I love the blue and white palette (so fresh and clean) and the natural light is beautiful (my goal for 2013? De-clutter!)Image

What is it about seeing celebrity houses? I love scouring design websites and blogs (something about seeing immaculate, interior designed spaces where the sky’s the limit budget-wise is fun).  Below are photos from Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s new Brentwood house.  The kitchen is to die for (what is it about photos of  big beautiful kitchens that I love?), and the all white house with the navy door? Perfection.

And of course I like the before and after photos of “designer-at-large” and Oprah’s sweetheart, Nate Berkus’ revamped New York apartment.  It’s interesting to see how he can transform a “blank canvas” of a wall into something completely different.  One of my favorite spaces he did was Katie Lee Joel’s New York brownstone that was featured in an old issue of Lonny Magazine.  Elegant and understated.

I feel terrible right now.  I’ve being doing this drop in class with one of the trainers at the gym and the last two days I’ve almost puked in his class (I know, I know, I’m sounding very “Danville” talking about “my trainer”, ugh). He told me I’m dehydrated (and I thought I was smart for eating steak last night).  The last two workouts I’ve done have sucked (has anyone ever projectile vomited on a rowing machine?).  The other ladies I work out with are like, super athletes (one is running from Reno to South Lake Tahoe) and Jon who trains us is working up to doing a 50-miler.  He ran for 6 1/2 hours last Saturday.  Hello? I only run if absolutely necessary (if I’m being chased). I’m shaky and feel panicky.  He said more water and two small meals before we meet.  I think I didn’t eat enough this morning (cup of cereal at 8am and nothing before a tough 11 am workout is not good).   The upside is I’ve traded my tumblr size vanilla latte for a small cup of coffee with a Trader Joe’s fat free creamer (no wonder the scale wasn’t moving) as well as cut out a lot of carbs and sugar during the week.  I’m down 6 pounds since the end of April and want to stay on track.  I want to feel better after a workout, not worse.

Can’t believe it’s already the weekend.  Heading out for a nice dinner tonight which I’m looking forward to.  Trying to figure out how I’m going to go to the bathroom with Spanx on under a pencil skirt.

Enjoy the day! C
